Hey beautiful people! My name is Mekdes.

I am a kiwi, born and raised in Auckland. I moved to Melbourne August of 2022. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Health Science (in Oral Health) from Auckland University of Technology where I gained an extensive knowledge of dental hygiene, dental therapy and orthodontic auxiliary.

I have always been passionate about dentistry and oral care, and becoming an Oral Health Therapist (OHT) has allowed me to turn this passion into a fulfilling career.

As an Oral Health Therapist, my main focus is on preventive care and education. I firmly believe that prevention is the key to maintaining optimal oral health and preventing common dental issues. I am committed to educating my patients about maintaining good oral hygiene practices, demonstrating new techniques, as well as providing thorough dental treatments.

In the last few years, there has been a rise in the teeth whitening industry due to social media marketing. As a result, there has been an increase in cosmetic teeth whitening businesses and low grade whitening products; which majority of the time are ineffective and can compromise the health of your teeth and gums. Due to the many options and lack of clarity on which products work best, I felt responsible as a dental practitioner to eliminate this confusion and provide education around this matter.

I created Glow Room so I could partake in this growing industry and create awareness about oral health, provide accurate professional advice and promote safe and effective professional teeth whitening and tooth gem services across Australia.

Since treatments at Glow Room will be carried out by an AHPRA registered OHT. We are able to use a higher percentage of whitening agents that cosmetic teeth whitening salons can not. This means you can achieve whiter results, faster.
